En Avant Academy of Dance is seeking an engaging, dependable tap instructor to join our teaching team! We're a community-focused studio that values strong dance education, creativity, and helping dancers build confidence in a positive, encouraging environment.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Wednesday 4:00pm-4:45pm — Tap 2, Ages 7-13 Wednesday 4:45pm-5:25pm — Tap Performance Group, Ages 7-14 Wednesday 5:25pm-6:10pm — Tap 3 + 4, Ages 12-14 RESPONSIBILITIES Teach structured, engaging tap classes that develop technique, rhythm, musicality, and performance skills. Plan lessons using our studio syllabi while bringing your own teaching style and creativity. Adapt instruction to support different learning styles and experience levels. Create age-appropriate choreography and prepare dancers for studio performances. Maintain a welcoming classroom with clear expectations and positive behavior guidance. Communicate promptly with the studio director about student needs, scheduling, and classroom concerns. Arrive prepared and on time, follow studio absence procedures, and consistently check staff communications.

QUALIFICATIONS A

strong foundation in tap technique and musicality. Experience teaching dance, preferably to children and youth. A patient, encouraging approach and the ability to explain skills clearly. Strong classroom management and thoughtful lesson planning. Dependable weekly availability and proactive communication. A commitment to family-friendly music, choreography, and instruction. We're especially interested in someone who would like to build an ongoing relationship with our dancers and studio, with potential to continue into future seasons.

Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington, approximately 20 minutes south of Western Washington University. Pay:

$20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.25 per week Application Question(s): Are you able to reliably commute to Burlington, WA throughout the season? Are you available Wednesdays from 6:15pm-7:45pm? Please describe your hip hop training and any experience teaching hip hop.
