The Pen Argyl Area School District is seeking a Supervisor of Technology Information Services to lead the integration of innovative technology across our classrooms and support functions. In this pivotal role, you will manage our student management systems, serve as a technical consultant for curriculum projects, support the integration of educational technology classroom software into the daily curriculum, and lead ongoing professional development for staff. Primary Responsibilities:
Direct the integration of technology into the classroom and support functions. Research, evaluate, and implement relevant new and emerging technology and concepts. Supervise, maintain, and diagnose malfunctions in the district student management system software. Serve as technical consultant for district curriculum projects. Update district software databases from year to year. Represent the district with community members, community leaders, representatives of higher education and other agencies in matters related to joint technology projects. Maintain contacts with vendors. Research and apply for grants. Oversee the planning and implementation of technology-based staff development programs for professional and support personnel as well as community education workshops within the District. Disseminate computer-related information and materials throughout the District. Assist in the selection, purchasing, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, supplies, and support materials for the instructional program. Work with district administrators to develop and implement procedures to provide equitable access to the district's technology resources. Be responsible for being the primary liaison between the Pen Argyl Area School District and all cyber and blended courses. Conduct technology-based staff development sessions. Serve on the district technology committee. Teach a year-long course for PASD teachers who are writing a cyber course. Keep current in the field and remain up-to-date in pertinent literature, research, and practices and report to the assistant superintendent. Respond to relevant software helpdesk issues. Perform other duties as assigned by District Office Administrative Staff. Attend School Board meetings and other committee meetings upon request of the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Recruit students to participate in the PAACA .
- Meet with and manage courses & students enrolled in the Pen Argyl Area Cyber Academy (PAACA) and hybrid courses.
- Manage all user accounts & course enrollments for teachers & students enrolled in the PAACA & blended courses.
- Serve as liaison between teachers, administration, parents, and the guidance department.
- Create and update Pen Argyl Area Cyber Academy promotional resources.
- Instruct & consult with teachers who are writing online courses.
- Schedule & conduct individual meetings with families interested in the cyber academy.
- Regularly check student attendance logs/reports & progress reports and notify administration of attendance and/or grade-related issues.
- Develop, update & conduct the orientation course to students & parents during the summer and as needed throughout the school year.
- Attend technology trainings related to this position .
- Provide updates to the Assistant Superintendent, administration and School Board regarding the Cyber Academy.

Responsibilities associated with the Pen Argyl Area Cyber Academy (PAACA), online course authoring, and virtual learning liaison duties are actively under review and may be revised or removed prior to formal contract initiation. In addition, possession of the Instructional Technology certificate is preferred, not required.
Qualifications :
Instructional Technology Certificate preferred and a minimum of 5 years of classroom experience. Possess current Act 34, 151 and FBI Clearances. Specialized training in the instructional use of computers and related technologies. Demonstrated understanding of hardware and software evaluation methods as well as the integration of technology into the curriculum. Knowledge of Internet operations and implications for K-12 education. Works well with others. Ability to physically move freely throughout the school setting. Have the visual acuity to read large amounts of literature and correspondence. Capability to communicate with staff, students, and community. Ability to communicate technological concepts to a non-technical audience; to communicate the district's vision for the future of technology in all of its schools. Ability to identify, assess and establish a priority for district technology needs. Have a valid driver's license. Ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds. Good organizational, interpersonal & leadership skills. Experience with current instructional technologies being used by the district. Ability to work under general supervision. Strong ability to manage multiple issues at once. Possess knowledge of current needs in the classroom and of higher education. A strong background and experience with technology integration in the teaching and learning process.
