About GO Project GO Project's vision is to close the opportunity gap for all under-resourced families who have children that are struggling in their New York City public school. By providing access to coordinated, comprehensive, and effective programs, GO supports families in ensuring their child's success in school, at home, and in life. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Instruction, the Associate Director will support the ongoing refinement, innovation and evaluation of all academic programming. The Associate Director oversees virtual Reading Intervention and leads a campus during GO School and GO Summer as the instructional leader. This is a full-time position including 22 Saturdays (between October - April) and periodic evenings for meetings and special events. During those weeks, the position is typically Tuesday-Saturday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are in-person office days). When Saturday programs are not in session, the position is Monday-Friday. We are in-person during the 5 weeks of GO Summer programming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Impact and Strategy Review, analyze and report on all student academic data to drive instruction, set programmatic benchmarks and evaluate GO's curriculum, approach and programmatic structure against student Math, ELA and social emotional learning goals. Support with developing, monitoring and managing GO Project's Instructional program (benchmarks, curriculum maps, assessment data, planning, etc.) to maximize and enhance student learning. Research and develop best practices to inform GO Project's academic intervention approach and ensure continuous improvement to meet evolving student needs. Contribute to strategic projects including development and assessment of curriculum and assessment tools. Oversee academic case management for diverse learners through needs assessment, coordinating specialized resources, and tracking academic or IEP progress to remove barriers to student success, including collaboration with the GO Families team to ensure student accommodations and learning plans are implemented and updated. Work with the GO Families team to identify families who might need support with educational advocacy to support student progress. Contribute to written reports and presentation materials to communicate program outcomes and impact. This includes working with fundraising team members, presenting to Board members and funders, and authoring internal and external reports. Support with the development and implementation of training opportunities for classroom team members. Campus & Instructional Leadership Oversee weekday virtual reading intervention including monitoring data, identifying trends in student and staff performance, and acting strategically to ensure interventionists meet student growth goals. Develop, coach, and lead a campus team of part-time professionals who work with students and families to ensure that they are meeting organizational goals and promoting the values of GO Project in all of their interactions. Establish and reinforce a culture of achievement and high expectations that drives staff to ensure that all students achieve at high levels. Ensure that instructional staff are on track to meet ambitious student achievement goals through direct coaching. Lead professional development that will have an immediate and positive impact on student achievement. Motivate instructional staff to reach ambitious goals with students by developing trusting relationships and establishing yourself as a valued leader. Consistently monitor data, identify trends in student and staff performance, and act strategically to ensure your campus meets its goals. Oversee staff to ensure campus goals around student achievement are met consistently through continuous monitoring of data and planned strategic actions with your team. Support preparations for the program by contributing to teacher recruitment for your campus.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate demonstrates a combination of the following attributes: Experience as a classroom teacher for at least 5 years and experience coaching instructional staff for at least 2 years. Demonstrated understanding of ELA and Math Common Core Standards and curriculum across K-8th grades. Background in special education and supporting diverse learners. Demonstrated success managing strategic and operational planning, organizational development and performance assessment and management. Experience building relationships with people representing diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience managing staff and the ability to facilitate collaboration and accountability to outcomes across multiple programs. Demonstrates strong analytic skills and is able to make strategic and tactical decisions using multiple data points. Comfortable using technology including databases such as Salesforce, Excel, and Google Suite to manage projects and information and is open to learning new platforms. An advanced degree in Education, Special Education or related field is preferred. Fluency in Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability. GO Project provides four weeks annual paid vacation + paid holidays. Retirement plan contribution match is in effect after one year.
