Pastry Instructor 5009 Broadway, New York, NY 10034 $18.00 - $25.54 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time, Contract $18.00 - $25.54 an hour - Temporary, Part-time, Full-time, Contract Uptown Manhattan We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a pastry & cake decorating Instructor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and inspire aspiring pastry chef & cake decorators while fostering their creativity and honing their skills. If you have a desire to mentor others in this art form, we want to hear from you! Possibility of teaching kids classes.
Responsibilities:
Conducting Classes:
Plan, organize, and classes for students of varying skill levels.
Demonstrating Techniques:
Demonstrate various pastry and cake decorating techniques, including baking, icing, piping, fondant work, and sugarcraft, ensuring students understand and can replicate them.
Providing Guidance:
Offer personalized guidance and feedback to students, helping them troubleshoot and improve their decorating skills.
Creating Curriculum:
Develop comprehensive curriculum outlines, lesson plans, and instructional materials to support the learning objectives of each class.
Maintaining Classroom Environment:
Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and skill development.
Ensuring Safety:
Adhere to health and safety guidelines in the handling of food products and equipment, and educate students on proper safety practices.
Staying Updated:
Stay informed about emerging trends and techniques in cake decorating, incorporating new ideas into class content as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Expertise in Pastry & Cake Decorating .
Teaching Experience:
Prior experience as a cake decorating instructor or demonstrator is preferred, but not required. Willingness to train and mentor others is essential.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively demonstrate techniques.
Creativity:
A passion for creativity and a keen eye for design, with the ability to inspire and encourage students to explore their artistic potential.
Patience and Empathy:
Patience and empathy in working with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels, providing constructive feedback and support.
Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute classes effectively, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing needs.

Professional demeanor with a commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct Open to flexible schedule & hours
