Overview Join our dynamic transportation team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver, where your expertise will drive safety, efficiency, and exceptional service. In this vital role, you will operate various types of transit vehicles—including school buses, paratransit vans, and transit buses—ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably. Your dedication to adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and customer service standards will make a meaningful difference in the community. Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, and paratransit vans in accordance with all state and local driving laws. Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance, child safety, senior care needs, and behavior management to ensure a comfortable journey for all. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid protocols when necessary. Maintain vehicle safety by conducting pre-trip inspections, adhering to vehicle codes, and performing emergency stop procedures when required. Communicate effectively with passengers using bilingual skills or multilingual capabilities to enhance customer experience. Respond quickly to traffic changes and unexpected road conditions to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Uphold transportation safety regulations by enforcing school policies, passenger safety protocols, and vehicle operation standards while managing student discipline when applicable. Skills Proven experience in bus driving, school bus operation, or transit bus management with a strong understanding of traffic laws and vehicle codes. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations including heavy lifting techniques, emergency response procedures, and vehicle maintenance basics. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities. Ability to perform mechanical knowledge tasks related to vehicle troubleshooting and basic repairs. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle behavior management and student discipline effectively. Demonstrated quick response skills for traffic changes and emergency situations; familiarity with CPR and first aid certifications highly preferred. Experience working with children or seniors in transportation settings; childcare or senior care experience is advantageous. Knowledge of school policies, student discipline procedures, and teaching or writing skills that support clear communication with passengers and team members. DRIVING LARGE
commercial TRUCKS experience, large wrecker driving experience preferred. 3. Must be able to pass a background check 4. Must be available nights and weekends 5. Must have a good MVR 6. Must live in the Alabaster, Helena, or Pelham areas for the Alabaster location. If you want to work, then come by 129 1st Ave W, Alabaster.
