The instructor ensures participants understand and apply Arizona's requirements regarding member rights, behavior intervention, restrictive measures, abuse prevention, and the safe delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Article 9 Instructor maintains compliance with all Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and AHCCCS training requirements and ensures accurate documentation of training records and participant completion. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTraining Responsibilities Conduct Arizona DDD-approved Article 9 training for new and existing employees. Present course material in accordance with current DDD Article 9 curriculum and instructor guidelines.

Compliance Responsibilities Maintain current Article 9 Instructor certification through Arizona DDD. Deliver training using only the approved DDD curriculum and materials. Maintain accurate attendance records. Issue certificates of completion in accordance with DDD requirements. Track employee training expiration dates and renewal requirements. Maintain organized training records for audits and inspections. Stay informed of changes to Article 9 statutes, rules, and DDD policies. Administrative Duties Prepare training schedules. Coordinate classroom setup and instructional materials. Maintain participant sign-in sheets and evaluation forms. Submit required training documentation to management. Assist with orientation for new employees. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to staff education. Required Qualifications Current Arizona DDD Certified Article 9 Instructor (required). High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong understanding of Arizona Article 9 requirements and DDD policies. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Valid Arizona Driver License. Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Current CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
