EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP
•After working 700 hours in your first year, you become an employee owner through our ESOP program. Independent Living Skills Instructor Manos has been providing in-home services for adults and children with developmental disabilities such as: Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delay, throughout Alameda & Contra Costa County for over 20 years in cities such as Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, Antioch, Walnut Creek, Livermore, Hayward, Union City and Fremont. Manos serves clients of the Regional Center of the East Bay in the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties. An ILS Instructor becomes a role model and guiding figure to adult clients with developmental disabilities who want to and need assistance to live more independently. Instructors work as aids in supporting adult clients with working towards improving their life skills and achieving goals such as: cooking, budgeting, schedules, organization, schooling, housing, transportation, social relationships, recreation and so much more. A Manos ILS instructor will have access to the Client's individualized goal plan, which lays out step by step instructions on how to reach the goals, help the client plan and develop resources, provide instruction in areas the client is struggling with, and keep track of the goals and progress made. An ILS instructor also provides supportive assistance to clients who need help with specific tasks while ILS services are being conducted.
Minimum Requirements:
18 years of age Clean criminal background check Reliable transportation Must have the ability to set limits, supervise and maintain a safe and positive environment. Must have the ability to engage the client in a manner appropriate to his or her skill level. Must have the ability to provide instruction to the client in a friendly, patient and caring manner. Must have the ability to follow a written plan Must have the ability to track goals and what was worked on during an instructional period Must be able to learn new skills and help the client acquire them
