Driving Instructor - Job Opportunity Company Overview SK Driving School Inc., a reputable and well-established driving school in Jamaica, New York, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driving Instructor to join our team. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a vital role in helping individuals develop safe driving skills and obtain their driver's licenses. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive behind-the-wheel instruction to students of varying skill levels while preparing students for their road tests. Responsibilities Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions for students in accordance with New York State DMV guidelines. Instruct students on driving rules, traffic regulations, road signs, and safe driving techniques. Prepare students for their New York State Road tests. Provide driving instruction and accompany students during road tests when assigned. Assess students' driving abilities, identify areas for improvement, and develop appropriate lesson plans. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to improve students' driving skills and confidence. Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude when working with students. Maintain accurate records of students' progress, driving lessons, and evaluations. Ensure the safety of students during driving lessons by following all applicable traffic laws and safety procedures. Work with administrative staff to coordinate and manage student schedules. Stay current with applicable New York State driving laws, DMV requirements, and instructional practices. Requirements Valid and current New York State Driving School Instructor Certificate (MV-524). Minimum 2+ years of experience as a driving instructor, preferably in a professional driving school. Strong knowledge of New York State driving laws, traffic rules, and road test requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with students of different experience levels. Strong observational and instructional skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs. Reliable, responsible, and professional. Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations or accidents. Ability to work a Monday-Friday, 5-day workweek, totaling 40 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications Certification or training from a recognized driving instructor training program. Bilingual proficiency is a plus. Experience preparing students for New York State Road tests.
