(Entry-Level Driver Training) Instructor and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of professional commercial drivers. In this energetic and impactful position, you will deliver comprehensive training that meets FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Your expertise will empower aspiring drivers to confidently operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission and air brake systems, while emphasizing safety, traffic laws, and best practices for commercial truck driving. Responsibilities Deliver engaging classroom instruction on CDL requirements, traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safe driving practices for commercial truck drivers. Conduct practical training sessions on truck operation, including tractor-trailer handling, manual transmissions, air brake systems. Assess student progress through evaluations, providing constructive feedback to ensure mastery of skills necessary for certification. Maintain accurate records of training sessions, student attendance, and performance assessments in compliance with regulatory standards. Stay current with industry updates related to commercial driving regulations and incorporate best practices into training modules. Foster a positive learning environment that promotes safety awareness, professionalism, and confidence among students. Take direction from administrative staff to schedule classes and ensure all training equipment is properly maintained and compliant with safety standards. Experience Proven experience as a professional truck driver with a valid Class A CDL license, including tractor-trailer operation. Extensive knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, traffic laws, and safety protocols for commercial trucking. Demonstrated ability to teach or train adults effectively in classroom settings or hands-on environments. Familiarity with air brake systems, manual transmissions, and specialized vehicle operations of heavy-duty trucks. Prior experience in commercial driving instruction or adult education is highly preferred. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to truck driving, including tanker operations and hazardous materials handling when applicable. Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for mentoring aspiring drivers toward successful certification.
