Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CDL Class A Instructor to join our team and lead the next generation of professional commercial drivers. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive training to aspiring truck drivers, ensuring they master the skills necessary for safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailers. Your expertise will help shape responsible drivers who adhere to all safety standards and regulatory requirements, including FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to share your knowledge, inspire learners, and contribute to the growth of the transportation industry. Duties Conduct hands-on training in truck driving skills, focusing on manual transmission operation, air brake systems, tanker operations, and tractor-trailer handling Assess student performance through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement Prepare and maintain detailed lesson plans, training records, and compliance documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations Ensure all training activities comply with safety protocols and industry best practices for commercial truck driving Stay current with updates in traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, and industry trends to deliver accurate and relevant instruction Support students in developing their confidence and competence in both classroom learning and behind-the-wheel exercises Requirements Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record; 3 years experience in commercial truck driving is essential Proven expertise in operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions and air brake systems Strong understanding of traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards for commercial vehicles Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear, engaging manner suitable for adult learners Classroom teaching experience with a focus on trucking or transportation topics is highly preferred Join us as a CDL Class A Instructor and play a pivotal role in shaping skilled drivers who prioritize safety while excelling on the road.
