The Lighthouse School is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic School-Age Teacher / Bus Driver to join our team. If you enjoy working with children, building positive relationships, and making a difference every day, we'd love to meet you. This position combines safely transporting children to and from local elementary schools with supervising and engaging children in our School-Age Program (ages 5-12 years) . We offer flexible scheduling options to fit your availability. Flexible Schedule Options Option 1
  • Split Shift Bus Driver Morning Route:
    Approximately 6:30 AM
  • 8:30
AM Afternoon Route & School-Age Program:
Approximately 2:30 PM
  • 6:30 PM Midday off This option is ideal for someone looking for part-time work or who has other commitments during the middle of the day. Option 2
  • Afternoon Teacher / Bus Driver Approximately 12:00 PM
  • 6:30 PM Assist classrooms by providing teacher breaks and classroom support.
Drive afternoon school routes. Supervise and engage children in our School-Age Program until closing. This option is ideal for someone looking for a consistent afternoon schedule. Follow all traffic laws and transportation safety procedures. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Ensure every child is safely loaded, unloaded, and accounted for. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle. Report any maintenance concerns or incidents promptly. School-Age Teacher Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 5-12 years . Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities including games, arts and crafts, STEM projects, outdoor play, homework support, and group activities. Encourage positive behavior, independence, and problem-solving skills. Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom. Follow all state licensing regulations and school policies. Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators. Qualifications Experience working with children in a licensed childcare center, preschool, after-school program, or elementary school preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. No CDL required. We provide the training needed for qualified candidates to safely operate our school vehicles. Ability to pass all required background checks. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, patient, professional, and positive attitude. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in children's activities indoors and outdoors. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of childcare experience. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience transporting children is a plus.
