SENIOR LECTURER AND DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
, Institute for Medical Engineering & Science (IMES) - Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) , will lead HST's MIT-based educational programs; responsibilities include overseeing academic affairs, educational policy, and curriculum development; advising and mentoring HST Ph.D. students; advancing strategic educational initiatives in partnership with HST co-directors; shaping the future of the HST student experience; will develop an educational portfolio aligned with candidate expertise and program needs; coordinate training programs and grants; oversee academic budgets; serve as the
IMES/HST UROP
coordinator; and support the continued excellence and growth of HST's educational mission. A full job description is available here . Job Requirements
REQUIRED
MD or PhD in a related field with experience in curriculum design, implementation, and assessment; at least five years of administrative experience, preferably in academia; demonstrated teaching experience and commitment to educational innovation; strong leadership, supervisory, relationship-building, organizational, and project management skills, including financial oversight; excellent written and verbal communication skills; discretion in handling confidential matters; and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and learning new systems (e.g., Canvas, FileMaker, financial platforms).
PREFERRED
Experience in higher education and/or collaborative, cross-institutional academic environments. Flexibility to support key programmatic and community events through occasional evening and weekend work (approximately four to six times per year). 06/23/2026
