The Dean of General Education and Professional Programs at BridgeValley CTC oversees general education and transfer courses, liberal arts and sciences programs, and career-focused offerings in business, education, legal studies, and professional licensure. Major responsibilities of the position include developing new programs, revising current programs, evaluating programs and faculty, budget planning and management, ongoing assessment of courses and programs, strategic planning, and general oversight of full-time and adjunct faculty in the division, as well as staff supervision. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. Salary offer will be commensurate with education and experience. Provides for and promotes instructional and curricular planning Supervises faculty members in assigned general education, transfer, and career-focused programs Supervises support staff Leads strategic planning efforts on behalf of the division and the college Works cooperatively with college personnel from other academic divisions, student services areas, and workforce development on college-wide activities and initiative Leads efforts to recruit, select, and evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty Manages the division budget and participates in budgetary planning for the college Works with faculty to periodically review programs and curricula Leads academic advising activities for the division and works with other academic divisions to train faculty on general education advising issues Works with the faculty to obtain and maintain appropriate accreditations for all programs within the division Works with faculty to obtain and maintain appropriate transfer and 2+2 agreements Participates in student academic appeals and procedures Leads the development of course schedules each semester Creates and maintains relationships with area business and industry Master's degree in a field appropriate to the division's course offerings, from a regionally accredited institution Minimum of three years professional experience supervising faculty at a higher education institution Minimum of five years teaching experience at a community college Excellent communication skills, including writing, problem-solving, and mediation Ability to manage effectively while maintaining a supportive working environment Ability and willingness to advocate on behalf of the college, the division, and its students Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment A passion for higher education Preferred Doctoral degree in a related area in addition to the master's degree in a field appropriate to the division's course offerings BridgeValley will not accept incomplete applications.
