CLASSROOM SUBSTITUTE

- Assist in caring for children and creating an environment that will promote the growth and development of young children ages 0-5 years old.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED

Demonstrate Classroom Ability and Experience in Early Childhood Education - generally gained through six months classroom experience caring for children (ages 0-5), preferably in a center- based environment, or 60 hours volunteering at CCS Excellent Communication Skills, Especially Good Listening Skills

Ability to Work as Team Member with Staff and Parents

Ability to Apply Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Young Children in a Classroom Setting

Able to Lift and Carry up to 50 Pounds

Capable of Getting Up and Down from the Floor with Ease

Can Stand and/or Sit for Extended Periods of Time Interchangeably

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Pre-hire:
Fingerprinting/Background Check Health Report Post-hire:

Annual Physical/Health History CPR and First Aid Certification Food Worker Card Proof of current Driver's License and auto insurance To work on site no less than once every 60 days

GENERAL INFORMATION

These are on-call positions, which give Substitutes the flexibility and control over assignments and work opportunities. There are 6 programs to potentially provide support for that provide you the opportunity to work as much or as little as you would like.

Fairview Center (Early Head Start, Head Start), Palmer Center (Early Head Start, Head Start),

Wasilla Early Head Start, Wasilla Head Start Supervisor:

Flexible Salary:

$16.69 - $20.56 per hour DOE and education plus training benefits and career opportunities.
