Job Description

  • Supervise daycare staff, including participation in the recruitment and hiring of staff, employee schedules for all staff, orienting new staff, and providing all staff with the information and resources required to do their jobs based on standard operating procedures, policy, and procedures.
  • Complete staff performance evaluations and mediate any staff problems that occur.
  • Develops and promotes a program that will encourage the overall development of the children (physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional, social, and spiritual)
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions to manage the Day Care center.
  • Develops the departmental budget for submission to the Tribal Administration.
  • Research and write grant proposals for the Day Care to obtain grants and prepare monthly and yearly reports on the status of the program for grant funds.
  • Submit required reports to Tribal Administration, Granting Agencies, and Tribal Finance Department.
  • Providing parents with information on the classroom curriculum, program events, workshops, and training available to parents.
  • Completes purchase orders and maintains the daycare inventory of materials, supplies, and groceries.
  • Plans weekly menus for the children, maintains attendance records, children's hours, and sign-in/out sheets.
  • Schedule field trips for the children.
  • Assist with daily activities upon the arrival of children as they enter the Day Care Center.
  • Attends as requested by the Supervisor, plans staff/parent meetings, workshops in or out of town, and required training.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
