We're seeking a Music School Manager to take full ownership of our new and growing La Cañada Flintridge location — this person will effectively run the school day-to-day: staff, students, scheduling, billing, facilities, and events. Ownership is available for guidance and support as needed, but this role owns execution and outcomes on-site. We're looking for a strong leader with real sales instincts and top-tier customer service skills: someone who can turn a phone inquiry into an enrolled student, keep the day running smoothly, and uphold our standards of professionalism, efficiency, and organization. No music or music education background is required. We're hiring for people skills, hustle, and follow-through, not musical training.
What You'll Do Full School Operations:
Serve as the on-site leader responsible for running the entire location day-to-day, making real-time decisions and looping in ownership on major or higher-level matters as needed.
Front Desk Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate all front desk activity, keeping communication seamless between staff, teachers, students, and parents.
Sales & Customer Service:
Answer calls with energy and warmth, respond to inquiries, and convert prospective families into enrolled students. This is one of the most important parts of the role.
Scheduling & Registration:
Manage and adjust student and teacher schedules, and handle bookings and registrations accurately.
Billing & Policy:
Clearly explain policies, resolve billing issues, and assist with basic financial reporting and payment audits.
Team Coordination:
Monitor adherence to school policies, coach front desk staff, and support hiring, training, and evaluation.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain student records, complete daily reports, track inventory, process payroll, and oversee marketing mailings.
Facility Management:
Keep studios, waiting areas, and common spaces clean and presentable; schedule piano tunings and repairs.
Events & Decor:
Plan and set up recitals, movie nights, and other school events, including seasonal and holiday decorating.
Systems:
Work daily across platforms such as Opus, Insightly, Airtable, Google Docs, Freshdesk, WhenIWork, Slack, and WordPress. Onboard and train new staff as needed. What We're Looking For A genuine love of interacting with people is required. this role is people-facing all day, every day. Customer service experience, ideally including management. Backgrounds in restaurants, hospitality, retail, salons, medical offices, all translate well. A genuine love of sales and comfort and confidence in selling our programs to prospective families over the phone, in emails and texts, and in person.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team, and to interact positively with teachers and staff when performance corrections are needed. Highly organized with sharp attention to detail and a great memory. This role juggles a lot of moving pieces.
