  • Student Assistants Position Summary Temporary hourly-intermittent work study position available in Child Development.
Start Date Position available on or after September 1, 2026 and ending on or before May 21, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance. Job Description/Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Assist with greeting and assisting faculty, students and community guests. Support front desk in answering phone calls for the Psychology & Child Development department. Answer basic questions and/or refer visitors or callers to appropriate person. Operate common office equipment (copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.). Maintain department-wide bulletin boards. Alphabetize, file, purge, data entry and scan documents. Create new student files, update advising materials and appointment binder. Proctor make-up exams and handling confidential files/exams. Assist with set up and clean-up of events hosted by the department (i.e. Undergraduate Research Symposium, CDEV Portfolio Presentations, Child Development Center Family Night. Etc.). Run department errands to various other department offices throughout campus Pickup and distribute mail to faculty and staff. Assist department administrative coordinators with various activities within the department as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates the capability to be able to follow instructions and multi-task. Demonstrates the ability to respond calmly and professionally to pressure. Demonstrates ability to be dependable and punctual. Demonstrates basic computer skills and intermediate skills with Microsoft Programs. Demonstrates strong organization skills. Demonstrates good customer service and phone skills.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units. Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
