Full Job Description Assistant Head of School Role Overview:
Score Academy Miami is seeking a motivated, organized, and student-centered Assistant Head of School to join our leadership team. This position works closely with the Head of School to support the daily operations of our Cognia-accredited private school while helping ensure an exceptional educational experience for every student. The Assistant Head of School plays an integral role in supporting student success, assisting faculty, partnering with families, and maintaining the high standards that define Score Academy Miami. We are looking for a positive, confident, energetic, and solution-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.
Responsibilities:
Student and Family Support:
Meet with prospective families to discuss educational options and assist in determining the most appropriate academic plan for each student when the Head of School is unavailable. Assist with student recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives. Build strong relationships with students and families through consistent communication and exceptional customer service. Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and administration to proactively address academic, behavioral, and other student-related concerns. Regularly follow up with families regarding student progress and overall satisfaction. Assist with organizing and facilitating parent-teacher conferences throughout the school year. Foster a positive, supportive, and nurturing school culture for all students.
Academic Leadership:
Support the Head of School in overseeing the daily operation of our one-on-one and small-group private school. Assist with student scheduling, course planning, and teacher assignments. Support teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and individualized student learning plans. Monitor students' academic progress and collaborate with faculty to ensure educational goals are being met. Assist in overseeing the quality and effectiveness of instruction and teacher-student relationships. Assist with curriculum planning and implementation for enrolled students. File and advocate for College Board and ACT accommodation requests for eligible students. Support the school's ongoing Cognia accreditation process and continuous improvement initiatives.
School Operations:
Assist in coordinating daily school operations to ensure a safe, organized, and productive learning environment. Help maintain student records and ensure accurate documentation. Review teacher communication and student progress reports to ensure high-quality service for families. Coordinate with the Head of School to ensure seamless collaboration between the tutoring center and private school. Assist with school events, testing schedules, orientations, and other administrative initiatives. Support compliance with school policies and procedures.
Leadership & Staff Support:
Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring faculty and staff. Provide instructional support and coaching to teachers as needed. Help organize and facilitate professional development opportunities. Contribute to creating a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture. Work closely with the Head of School to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across all areas of the school.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred). Previous experience in education, school administration, instructional leadership, or a related field. Experience working with students with learning differences, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
