Job Description Gulf Coast Charter Academy South:
Director of Preschool Support the core values and core focus of FORZA Child Development Centers while actively seeking to improve the school community. Build a sense of belonging with everyone entering the school and initiate new family relationships. Research and further develop the current best practices for children ages 3 to 5 years. Oversee implementation of the curriculum and maintain community relations while ensuring all staff have clear expectations and are held accountable for customer satisfaction. Leadership & Staff Management
  • Provide effective leadership and management to foster unity and professionalism among staff
  • Mentor staff and provide timely feedback on performance
  • Offer open, constructive criticism and coaching for improvement
  • Monitor adherence to employee handbook, health & safety standards, and deadlines
  • Hold monthly staff meetings
  • Motivate staff to align with the school's mission
  • Create and monitor staff schedules based on center needs
  • Evaluate PTO requests and manage PTO/payroll submissions
  • Interview and hire new staff
  • Conduct yearly staff evaluations Student & Family Engagement
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records and files Monitor tuition accounts and communicate with families and the Regional Director regarding past-due balances
  • Communicate core values and mission to staff, parents, and students
  • Show genuine interest in the well-being of staff, parents, children, and the school
  • Keep parents informed about policies, procedures, and activities
  • Resolve complaints and concerns quickly and equitably, reporting them to the Regional Director when necessary
  • Hold parent conferences as needed
  • Conduct tours for prospective families
  • Maintain a positive image of the school through effective communication and community engagement Compliance & Professional Development
  • Maintain required work hours of 7am-6pm, as well as over holiday breaks when the center is open
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Children and Families, Early Learning Coalition, and FORZA Child Development Center standards
  • Submit required paperwork for new hires to licensing authorities
  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops (minimum 30 hours per fiscal year)
  • Promote the school through marketing strategies, open houses, and outreach Facility & Curriculum Oversight
  • Supervise maintenance of school facilities and equipment
  • Plan for future facility needs and implement building safety procedures
  • Proofread and approve parent communication materials
  • Conduct formal and informal observations per school guidelines
  • Monitor weekly lesson plans in accordance with Florida state standards
  • Review and ensure proper implementation of classroom schedules
  • Follow all policies, rules, and procedures in line with best practices
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the FORZA Management Team or Regional Director
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, Associate Degree, or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Current Staff Credential or CDA
  • Current Director's Credential Level 1 or higher with VPK endorsement
  • DCF-regulated 45 hours of training
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working in the field (preferred)
