Job Summary The Student Engagement Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the creation of a robust campus activities program through the development of collaborative relationships with university departments, offices, and student organizations while concurrently fostering an environment that cultivates the creation of new student programs that enhances an engaging and transformative campus life experience. The Program Coordinator will also serve as the general advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB). The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive advertising and marketing plan for campus activities. This position works in close collaboration with various departments across campus on facets of the overall student experience. Responsibilities Administrative and Operational Support
  • 30%•General office duties include submitting purchase requests, submitting space reservations, scheduling meetings/events/appointments, screening calls, assisting visitors with requests, managing the Student Engagement email account and social media accounts.
  • Supervises student office support staff and the Den student staff by assisting in delegating daily responsibilities and approving time.
  • Prepares special reports; answers requests for information which may include completing questionnaires and compiling data from files.
  • Assists the Director of Student Engagement in advisement of student organizations.
  • Performs additional administrative duties as assigned. Programming
  • 50%•Advises the Campus Activities Board (CAB)•Assesses student program interests and creates, develops, and plans educational, social, and wellness recreational programs for the campus with intentional learning outcomes.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Student Engagement, position oversees the University's various Bobcat Marketplaces (student organizational fairs) and represents the department at campus-wide events such as but not limited to New Student Programs, Senior Send-Off, Week of Welcome, Homecoming, Midnight Breakfast, and other University events.
  • Responsible for the oversight of Donahoo Lounge
  • Responsible for the oversight of Thunder, the university's mascot Marketing
  • 15%•Develops and implements a comprehensive advertising and marketing plan for campus activities by using BrightSign Software for the Maxwell Student Union and social media communications.
Other
  • 5%•Other duties as assigned including but not limited to creating departmental marketing materials, assisting other departments with campus-wide events, and serve on various campus committees.
All employees within the Division of Student Life will assist with at least three (3) student events/programs per semester that occur outside of regular business hours. Non-exempt employees must coordinate with their immediate supervisor for pre-approval of event service and the appropriate adjustments to their normal work schedule to accommodate the non-business work hours. Examples of events/programs which satisfy the event service requirement include but are not limited to: Fall
  • Week of Welcome, Move-In days, Family Weekend Spring
  • Homecoming, Spring Concert, Family Day, preview days, and Junior Day.
The specific list of eligible events/programs for each semester will be maintained and communicated by the Office of the Vice President for Student Life. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required Experience Prior involvement as a student leader in co-curricular programs Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Enrollment in graduate level courses in Student Affairs or related discipline.   • 2 years' experience in Higher Education
  • Prior experience supervising, coaching, and/or mentoring undergraduate students.
Proposed Salary This position is a pay grade 7. The starting salary range is $40,729.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience. ABILITIES
Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of campus constituents, including students, faculty, staff, and community partners, in support of student engagement initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of experiential learning principles and their application to leadership development in higher education or a comparable setting. Knowledge of student development and leadership development theories as they relate to co-curricular programming and student success. Basic knowledge of contract processes, including reviewing and tracking agreements related to events, vendors, or programming partnerships. Ability to develop and articulate clear learning outcomes for student engagement programs, workshops, or leadership initiatives. Proficiency in website content management tools or webpage editing applications to maintain accurate and current program information. SKILLS Proficiency in standard office software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic communication tools such as Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. Demonstrated ability to work independently with initiative, maintain an energetic and service-oriented approach, and apply creative problem-solving skills in a fast-paced student affairs environment.
