Salary Range:
$135,000-$145,000 SUMMARY The North Andover Public School District invites applications for the position of Principal of the Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center (ECC). The Principal serves as the chief administrative officer and instructional leader for the district's specialized early childhood hub, overseeing a comprehensive program for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. The Bradstreet ECC is defined by its commitment to Special Education and Integration. The incoming Principal must be a sophisticated leader capable of managing a large-scale staff of approximately 100 employees while ensuring that inclusive practices are executed with clinical precision and educational warmth. The successful candidate will be a highly organized administrator with a "students-first" philosophy. They must demonstrate the emotional intelligence required to lead a large staff through the complexities of early childhood intervention while maintaining a formal, professional standard of excellence that reflects the values of the North Andover Public Schools.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional & Special Education Leadership
Inclusion Model Excellence:
Oversee the design and delivery of integrated Pre-K classrooms, ensuring the seamless synthesis of students with diverse learning profiles and their typically developing peers.
Clinical Oversight:
Provide high-level supervision of specialized programs, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, therapeutic interventions, and developmental screenings.
Compliance Management:
Direct the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and state regulations (603 CMR 28.00).
Curriculum Continuity:
Ensure vertical alignment between the Pre-K foundational skills and the Kindergarten Common Core standards to facilitate successful transitions to the district's elementary schools. Personnel Management & Organizational Culture
Staff Supervision:
Directly evaluate and support a multidisciplinary team of 100+ staff members, including certified teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, School Psychologists, and Paraprofessionals.
Professional Capacity Building:
Design and facilitate advanced professional development focused on early literacy, trauma-informed care, and differentiated instruction for early learners.
Recruitment:
Oversee the hiring process to ensure the ABECC is staffed by educators with expertise in early childhood and special education. District-Level Collaboration & Strategic Planning
Systemic Integration:
Partner with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Elementary Principals to ensure a unified district-wide approach to student support and transition planning.
Policy Contribution:
Serve as a core member of the District Leadership Team, contributing to the development of district-wide strategic goals and safety protocols.
Operational Synergy:
Coordinate with District Facilities and Transportation departments to manage the unique logistical requirements of an early childhood facility, including specialized door-to-door transportation for students with IEPs. Family & Community Relations
Foundational Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for families entering the public school system, establishing a culture of transparency, trust, and partnership.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Certification:
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principal (PreK-6).
Education:
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Special Education, or Early Childhood Education.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of successful experience in early childhood education. Demonstrated leadership experience in a special education context. Proven success in managing a large, diverse professional staff.
Skills:
Expert knowledge of the MA Early Learning Guidelines and the MA Evaluation Frameworks.
