Job Description

Commandant Assistant Large organization located in Piney Point, MD is looking for an Assistant Commandant to join our team. We are an apprenticeship program for adults wanting to start a career in the maritime industry (civilians working aboard ships). Being an assistant commandant at this paramilitary maritime school holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall motivation, training, discipline, and administration of the school's apprentices. In this position you will develop and refine protocols, and work as part of a collaborative team to ensure the safety and suitability of apprentices. You will serve as a role model and mentor to apprentices, providing guidance on personal conduct, academic performance, and career aspirations. There will also be opportunities to travel; representing the school in community events and union activities, promoting the school's mission and values.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire others, with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient at conveying complex information to diverse audiences. Prior military, police, or security preferred, but not required.
Schedule is as follows:
Wed-Sun, 1pm-9:30pm. Position requires holiday and weekend work. We offer an excellent benefits package. Compensation is $43,680k-52,000k / year. Benefits
