This student assistant supports staff engaged in developing regulations, rules, procedures, standards, and policies related to education for young children and their families. Working under the direction of professional staff, the student assistant contributes to tasks connected to state PreK and Early Education grant programs, including the Great Start Readiness Program, Strong Beginnings, and other grants assigned to this unit. Responsibilities include assisting with data collection and organization, preparing draft summaries or informational materials, supporting communication efforts with intermediate school districts, local school districts, community-based organizations, and other partner agencies, and helping track activities related to program development, implementation, and evaluation. The position participates in trainings and webinars as needed and provides additional support to the PreK Manager and team as assigned. Position Description Required Education and Experience The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution. Specific information on the education and experience required is in the job specification for the Student Assistant class. Additional Requirements and Information Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month and must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources. Please attach your current proof of enrollment to your application.
