Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Secondary Office Admin at Albany Area Secondary School. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting the administrative operations of the school, ensuring a smooth and efficient environment for students, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced educational setting. Responsibilities
  • Manage daily office operations, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries from students, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and personal information, in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of school communications, including newsletters, announcements, and event information.
  • Coordinate scheduling for meetings, conferences, and school events, ensuring all logistical details are handled efficiently.
  • Support the administration in maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering necessary materials.
  • Assist with financial tasks, including processing invoices, managing petty cash, and maintaining budget records.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate communication and address any administrative needs.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with school management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
