Dakota Hills Middle School is a school of approximately 1,265 students. Dakota Hillsmission is to help students develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to enable them to be successful and productive members of a diverse, global society. Rosemount offers students a variety of academic courses that are engaging and challenging. Responsibilities The principal reports to the Director of Secondary Education and is responsible for the following: overall direction and administration of Dakota Hills Middle School facilities, resources, curricular and co-curricular programs including selection, supervision, development and evaluation of licensed and support staff; curriculum; budgets and capital expenditures; building policies and procedures; schedules; public relations; and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. Required Qualifications MN K-12 administrative license Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community Must be an instructional leader knowledgeable in best practices for learning and instruction Demonstrates an understanding of their own identity and intercultural competence Leads with an equity lens to close learning and opportunity gaps and address disproportionality Demonstrates ability to lead change, have courageous conversations, resolve conflicts, and a commitment to implementing data-informed decisions Commitment to developing an equitable culture, systems, and practices Reflective, receptive to feedback Shows effective skills in staff motivation, supervision, curriculum development, and site management Possesses excellent public relations, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills A compassionate leader with integrity Ability to plan and organize work effectively, and plan and supervise the work of others Ability to lead school construction projects Desired Qualifications Leadership experience in the field of education, especially at the middle school level 5 years teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level Proven successful experiences leading in a setting comprised of a diverse student population Strong collaborator and communicator who demonstrates effective communication with diverse student, teacher, parent and community populations A proven commitment to community service and the ability to develop community partnerships Proven experience in providing meaningful recognition and support to staff and studentsResponsible To:
Director of Secondary Education Compensation /Benefits:
Salary in the range of $157,290 - $168,611 (260 days/year) based on 2025/26 salaries, depending upon qualifications, plus an excellent benefits program. If benefit eligible, benefits are available to new employees effective the first day of active employment. Benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, long term disability insurance, sick-leave, state pension plan, tax-deferred retirement savings account, and flexible spending account. Some employee groups also receive vacation, holidays or personal leave.
