Job Description

Hamilton High School is seeking an enthusiastic member to join our team as our Work-Based Learning & Future Ready Assistant. This position oversees and manages the high school's career exploration programs, work-based learning experiences, internship placements, and work-release initiatives. This role establishes and maintains relationships between the high school, local business partners, and students, ensuring that all learners have access to future ready opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Work-Based Learning & Internship Management Develop high school internships, job shadowing experiences, and apprenticeships across diverse industry sectors. Recruit local business partners, employers, and community organizations to host student learners. Match students with appropriate work-based learning opportunities based on their career interests, strengths, and academic goals. Conduct regular site visits to ensure safe, legal, and educationally enriching environments for participating students. Create, in partnership with administration, the application and approval process for the student work-based learning and career readiness programs, ensuring all school and district prerequisites are met. Verify student employment and maintain required paperwork, including training agreements, and liability waivers. Collect and review hours logged, employer evaluations, and wage tracking to award academic credit appropriately. Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be required as given or assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent with completion of at least two years of student enrollment at an institute of higher education preferred. Routine record keeping. Knowledge of public education goals and objectives. Assume responsibility for assisting in supervision of students. Perform routine clerical work and light typing. Learn and utilize basic methods and procedures to be followed in instructional settings. Demonstrate an understanding, patient, warm, positive, and receptive attitude toward children. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, parents, and general public. Ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters. Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities. Ability to use and/or learn a variety of electronic and technology devices, copiers, telephone/voice mail, and fax Ability to drive between HSD buildings and work-based learning sites. Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy.
