ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
ITS is the centralized provider of technology services to the students, faculty and staff of Shawnee State University. ITS ensures that enterprise systems and mission-critical functions are fully operational on a continuous basis, standard technology is regularly refreshed, and that networked computing resources are available based on user roles, appropriate access guidelines and campus policy.
POSITION SUMMARY, ROUTINE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
ITS student employees staff our front desk in the basement of the Clark Memorial Library. Their primary duties are assisting students, faculty, and campus guests at the counter with technology questions related to campus access, account issues, and password issues (including resets). They also handle the front desk phones, which receive all of our main Service Desk calls. Occasionally, they deliver technology across campus (TVs on carts, headsets, etc.) Background in technology/IT is not necessary ; this is primarily a customer service position. Being comfortable with frequent interactions with the public and providing assistance over the phone are important; ITS will teach student employees what technology they need to know for the position. Minimum Qualifications Registered full-time SSU student Eligible to work in the United States Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and follow instructions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms Follow SSU dress code policy
