Non-Exempt Salary Range:
50,800 - 54,000 Position Summary The Academic Advisor & Retention Coordinator provides academic advising to students and develops, coordinates, and implements retention initiatives within academic departments to ensure student success. This position is responsible for providing assigned students with educational guidance and assistance, including course scheduling, academic advising, career exploration, referrals to other departments, and mentoring related to college life. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Advising & Retention, and under the general guidance of the Executive Director of Recruitment & Retention, the Advisor & Retention Coordinator performs complex professional student advising and coaching in individual and group settings, in-person, virtually, over the phone, and through email and text. This position requires the application of professional knowledge and judgment, as well as experience, to supporting students through their college journey. This position serves students at the Klamath Falls campus as well as various satellite locations as needed. This position will assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of Oregon Tech initiatives; eliminating equity gaps and decreasing time to degree; and promoting access, academic achievement, and graduation of undergraduate students. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, be a data-informed critical thinker, and have great attention to detail and organizational skills. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences through various mediums, both individually and in group settings.
  • Positive customer service experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in higher education, K-12 education, college counseling, admission counseling, or advising, in a student-facing position.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years advising experience.
  • CRM experience.
