Job Description
Coffenberry Middle School is looking for a positive, student-focused leader to join our team as Principal. We are seeking someone who is excited about supporting middle school students as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and who is committed to creating a safe, welcoming school where all students feel supported and ready to succeed.
Qualifications and Attributes:
A valid State of Oregon Administrative License, appropriate for the position, issued by TSPC. Minimum of 5 years of successful educational leadership experience preferred. Middle school teaching experience preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, staff, and community members. Deep understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for middle-level learners, including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), instructional leadership, and technology integration. Demonstrates genuine care for the success and well-being of every student. Sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions. Visible and engaged presence within the school and broader community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead overall school operations, including instructional programs, staff development, and daily management. Cultivate strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate. Maintain open and effective lines of communication with all stakeholders. Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the school day and at extracurricular activities. Promoting collaboration and shared leadership focused on middle school student achievement and growth. Develop the master schedule to meet student needs and ensure appropriate staff assignments based on licensure. Participates in District provided professional development. Ensure compliance with all district policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws. The responsibilities listed above are representative and not intended to be all-inclusive.
