Student Council Sponsor

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have knowledge and skills required for a successful Student Council.

In addition to abiding by established laws, policies, rules and regulations, the Student Council Sponsor shall have the following responsibilities and duties:

Be knowledgeable of all aspects of the organization including the constitutional requirements, standards, policies, functions, purpose, ceremonies and parliamentary procedures.

Serve as liaison between the administration/faculty and the organization.

Consult with the principal regarding proposed activities.

Train officers to perform leadership roles in the organization and know the responsibilities of each office.

Organize functions to broaden students' educational experiences.

Organize membership selection process pursuant to by-laws and requirements.

Supervise all meetings.

Organize and supervise all fund raising activities.

Approve and supervise all sponsored activities.

Prepare a tentative calendar of scheduled events and activities.

Maintain financial and membership records.

Provide for and supervise students' attendance at national, state and regional conferences.
