Jobs may be posted for any number of our 11 diocesan schools and five non-diocesan schools serving 4,300 students in Catholic schools from PS through Grade 12. Job Summary Job Summary The Second Grade Teacher is responsible for creating a faith-filled, engaging, and academically challenging classroom environment that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of each student. The Second Grade Teacher will provide instruction in all core academic subjects while preparing students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in partnership with families and the parish. The teacher will develop and implement a rigorous, standards-based curriculum that supports student growth while integrating Catholic values throughout all aspects of instruction and classroom life. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, collaborative, and committed to fostering a love of learning while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required. Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or eligibility to obtain one preferred. Catechist certification or willingness to obtain certification as required by the Diocese. Experience teaching elementary students preferred. Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the school. Successful completion of required background checks and child safety training.
