Job Description

Overview:
The Infant Care Specialist's job is to prepare and maintain a Montessori infant environment. The information that follows outlines the essential functions of this position in all aspects and areas of your teaching responsibilities. The ability to work independently, as well as with others, are two of the many essential functions of this position. This position reports to the Head of School and shares responsibility with all staff members for creating a culture of accountability and for taking ownership of the results we achieve as an educational institution This person must possess a minimum of 12 ECE units + 3 Toddler/Infant specific units . Familiarity and past experience in an infant setting is a plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide nurturing and attentive care to children of all ages, from infants to preschoolers
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and diapering as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support children with special needs
  • Manage classroom dynamics and behavior effectively
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare space
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in childcare, special education, or caregiving is preferred
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility in adapting to different childcare settings and routines
