About the Position We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, and caring Elementary Grade Teacher to join our K-6 after-school program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is confident in elementary-level math and English, and can create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Responsibilities Provide students with clear and detailed guidance on homework assignments. Accurately review and grade student homework. Teach elementary-level math and reading effectively. Support students in developing strong academic habits and confidence. Manage a classroom of up to 15 students. Maintain a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Communicate effectively with students, families, and fellow educators. Help students develop both academically and personally. Qualifications Currently enrolled in college or have a higher level of education. Strong knowledge of elementary-level English and Mathematics. Patient, enthusiastic, responsible, and comfortable working with children. Demonstrates effective teaching and classroom-management skills. Prior experience working with children or youth in a classroom or educational setting is preferred, but not required . Training will be provided. Reliable and able to commit to the Monday-Friday afternoon schedule. Must be able to commute to Walnut, CA 91789 . Teaching experience of 1 year or more is preferred. Schedule Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:00 PM during the school year. This is an in-person, part-time position. Overtime is generally not available.
