An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. QUALIFICATIONS
Connecticut Certification. Love of children, strong background in early elementary education and the teaching of language arts and mathematics. Proven leadership. Reflective learner having high expectations for his/her performance and that of students. Applied expertise in implementing an integrated language arts curriculum. Commitment to contributing to a community of learners. Ability to work and actively involve parents in the educational process. Understanding of, and experience in using technology in the classroom.
