Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
This position offers something increasingly rare...the opportunity to spend your day teaching rather than constantly managing. The Children's House of Ormond Beach is seeking an experienced elementary educator to guide a small class of just 13 students who arrive each day ready to learn. Having spent years in our child-centered, hybrid-Montessori program, these children are independent, curious, respectful, and academically engaged. They don't need to be convinced that learning matters, they already know it does. You'll inherit a beautiful, well-prepared classroom with established materials, a thoughtfully developed curriculum, and proven systems. With a strong foundation already in place, you'll have the freedom to make the classroom your own…bringing your unique teaching style, creativity, and expertise to inspire deeper learning while adapting the curriculum to meet the individual strengths and needs of your students. This Position Is Ideal For A Teacher Who Enjoys... Building meaningful relationships with students. Engaging bright, curious learners. Adapting lessons to meet individual strengths and needs. Creating an engaging classroom where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Being trusted to use professional judgment and creativity. What Makes This Classroom Different Just 13 students. Children who genuinely enjoy coming to school. Strong classroom routines already established. Minimal behavioral challenges. No standardized testing. Progress is measured through observation, growth, and demonstrated mastery, not testing and letter grades. A collaborative leadership team that values teachers as professionals. Qualifications We're seeking an educator with: At least two years of lead teaching experience in Kindergarten, First Grade, or a comparable elementary classroom. Excellent classroom leadership and communication skills. A nurturing, confident, and organized teaching style. An appreciation for individualized, child-centered education. Experience exclusively in preschool, childcare, or pre-primary settings does not provide the elementary instructional experience required for this role. Montessori experience is welcomed but not required. We will support the right educator in learning our approach. A Level 2 Background Screening is required.
