Life Village is seeking a warm, creative, Montessori-certified educator to help launch and lead a primary and kindergarten program where nature is a classroom every day. Children will spend approximately two hours indoors with Montessori lessons and materials and at least two hours outdoors in forest kindergarten and nature-based learning, weather and safety permitting. You'll plan engaging projects, lessons, and activities that connect early academics, practical life, creativity, and outdoor discovery. Our nature-based campus features mature trees, gardens, animals, and outdoor learning spaces. You'll have assistant teacher and administrative support, paid planning time, and a meaningful voice in shaping the program. What You'll Do Lead a multi-age primary and kindergarten group serving children ages 4-5. Plan and deliver Montessori lessons in practical life, sensorial learning, language, mathematics, and cultural studies. Develop weekly learning plans, seasonal projects, and hands-on activities for indoor and outdoor learning. Use nature as the classroom through counting and sorting natural objects, storytelling, gardening, building, wildlife observation, and science investigations. Guide nature walks, nature journaling, sustainability projects, and age-appropriate animal-care experiences. Balance purposeful lessons with child-led exploration, movement, imaginative play, and discovery. Prepare welcoming indoor and outdoor learning environments and adapt activities to children's needs and interests. Encourage independence, cooperation, problem-solving, and care for the environment. Observe and document progress, communicate with families, and collaborate with the assistant teacher and school leadership. Follow established classroom, outdoor supervision, weather, and safety procedures. Who We're Looking For Montessori primary training. Experience teaching preschool or kindergarten-aged children; three or more years preferred Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood education, or a related field preferred Strong understanding of Montessori materials, multi-age learning, and early childhood development A genuine love of nature and enthusiasm for teaching outdoors daily Creativity in planning meaningful projects, lessons, and activities using the natural environment A warm, patient manner and positive approach to behavior guidance Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills Comfort using Google Workspace and digital tools for planning, documentation, and family communication Waldorf experience, forest school training, or outdoor education experience is a plus. Teacher certification and experience with gardening, sustainability, or nature-based arts are also welcome. Candidates must pass a background screening and be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is unavailable.
