REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License; Early Childhood required and Early Childhood Special Education endorsement/approvals, preferred. Candidates without the necessary endorsement for dual certification could be considered for hire for 1 year only Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process Strong organizational skills Strong problem solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to informally and formally assess learning and behavioral needs of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a high quality, inclusive learning environment for prekindergarten students as defined by ISBE Preschool for All monitoring guidelines and accountability systems. Plan and implement instruction in accordance with the approved PK curriculum. Establish and implement appropriate student assessment procedures. Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning through the establishment of a behavior management plan and social emotional supports. Provide curricular and behavioral support to students as specified on Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Active participation in staff development activities. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to school improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQUIP) initiatives. Attend district in-services and professional development opportunities in order to implement new strategies for curriculum and instructional improvement. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public. Other duties as assigned.
