An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. POSITION TITLE
First Grade Elementary Certified Teacher (TEMP Contract)
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide curriculum and instruction to first grade students in reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, health, social skills, and all other related areas.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR
Principal DUTIES:
Fully implement the curriculum in reading, language arts, science, social studies, health, social skills, and all other related areas. Provide classroom instruction that is engaging, integrated, and developmentally appropriate Provide differentiated instruction to support varying levels of performance Use formative assessment to guide instruction in reading and math Provide supervision of students at all times Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to provide academic support for students Develop and maintain relationships and communication with parents Fully participate in meetings, group planning, professional development and other staff activities All other duties of a classroom teacher
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be certified in elementary education, have a valid Indiana teaching license, and be highly qualified.
