An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description
Ideal candidate will:
Be a part of a vibrant, Catholic, faith-filled educational community. Collaborate with the Early Childhood Team Utilize the Indiana Academic Standards and our Diocesan Curriculum Plan and implement differentiated, standards-based lessons for students with a Mild or Moderate Disability as well as students above grade level Possess strong behavior management skills. Have the ability to provide effective whole group instruction as well as small group instruction Possess knowledge of Writer's Workshop, 6+1 Traits and Daily Five Track student progress towards mastery of Indiana Academic Standards Communicate consistently and professionally with students, parents, staff, & administration Possess an active Indiana teaching license, Emergency Permit, or be working toward licensing Participate in diocesan and school improvement goals including professional development. Foster the spiritual development of students. Work collaboratively with other members of the Lower elementary school team to create cross curricular units Complete other duties as assigned by the principal Teaching License or Emergency Permit RequiredBenefits
