An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

The Islamic Academy for Peace is an accredited Pre-k to Grade 8 full time Islamic school located in Methuen Massachusetts. We are currently seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a commitment to student success, the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment and must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum objectives. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special needs or advanced abilities. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and achievement. Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth as an educator. Foster a love of learning and a growth mindset among students, encouraging them to take risks and persevere in the face of challenges.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field (master's degree preferred). Teaching certification/license is optional Previous experience teaching elementary or primary grades, preferably in a diverse classroom setting.To apply:
