Gifted and Talented Teacher | RSU 10

Regional School Unit 10 (RSU 10) is looking for a warm, collaborative, and student-centered Gifted and Talented Teacher. This position is based at Mountain Valley Community School and Mountain Valley High School and serves students at the elementary and secondary levels.

Students with advanced learning needs thrive when they are challenged, understood, and given room to explore their interests. We are looking for an educator who can recognize students' strengths, design meaningful learning opportunities, and work with teachers and families to help students grow.

What You'll Do

Provide engaging instruction and enrichment that develops students' critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and independence.

Plan learning experiences that respond to students' strengths, interests, and needs across elementary and high school settings.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to support appropriate challenge within regular instruction.

Use student work, assessment information, and teacher input to plan and adjust learning opportunities.

Help students set goals, pursue deeper learning, and share what they have learned in meaningful ways.

Communicate with families and work as part of a team to support student success.

Qualifications

Valid Maine teaching certification appropriate to the position, or eligibility for certification.

Experience with gifted and talented education, enrichment, or differentiated instruction preferred.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Commitment to equitable access to challenging learning opportunities for all students.
