Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Apply here Position Summary We are seeking a structured and academically focused 4th Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers in this role build the foundation for the transition to middle school by strengthening reading comprehension, writing organization, and mathematical reasoning while maintaining clear expectations for behavior and work habits. The ideal candidate balances strong relationships with consistent accountability and maintains a classroom culture where students feel supported and challenged. Learn more at: www.mimmsad.org Key Responsibilities Deliver standards-aligned 4th grade instruction in ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies Strengthen reading comprehension, writing skills, and multi-step mathematical reasoning aligned to 4th grade standards Use assessment data, including NWEA MAP and M-STEP results, to guide instruction and interventions Maintain structured classroom procedures and expectations appropriate for 4th grade learners Communicate consistently with families Implement accommodations and intervention plans Participate in coaching cycles and team collaboration Maintain accurate records for grading and attendance Administer district and state assessments, including M-STEP Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of 4th grade curriculum, standards, and developmental needs Ability to analyze assessment data and adjust instruction Strong classroom management rooted in consistency and fairness Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining academic expectations Strong organizational and communication skills Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with elementary endorsement required Two or more years of teaching experience preferred Demonstrated classroom management and instructional effectiveness Candidates must hold valid Michigan certification prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
