An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

School Overview Creation Acres is an empowering, Christian-based, Montessori microschool in downtown Mint Hill. We serve ages 3-15, offering a unique blend of core subjects and extracurricular classes that foster student leadership and creativity. Our student-led approach allows youth to take charge of their educational journey, crafting a personalized learning experience. Summary As an Elementary Guide at Creation Acres, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences of our students in 1st-3rd grade (lower), 4th-6th grade (upper), or possibly a combined environment. In this position, you will deliver engaging lessons, work with an assistant, and maintain a nurturing environment that aligns with our mission of inspiring youth. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles. Maintain a prepared environment that reflects Montessori principles and Christian values. Mentor students in their academic and personal development, promoting leadership skills. Assess student progress through various evaluation methods, including Montessori-style observations. Collaborate with an assistant to develop and enhance curriculum offerings. Facilitate extracurricular activities that support holistic student growth. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and classroom activities. Stay current with educational best practices and integrate them into teaching methods. Qualifications Bachelor's degree Elementary Montessori certification strongly preferred Experience in elementary teaching Strong mentoring skills to guide students in their educational journey Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to individual needs Excellent communication skills to foster relationships with students, parents, and staff Ability to create a classroom environment that supports all learners Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy or willing to be trained Knowledge of literacy education strategies is a plus.
