Job Description:
LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a highly qualified, passionate, and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. The Kindergarten Teacher will plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction that supports students' academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth. The teacher will establish a positive classroom culture, differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs, monitor student progress through ongoing assessment, and use data to inform instruction. The ideal candidate will foster foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning while encouraging curiosity, creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues, families, specialists, and school leadership to ensure students receive the support necessary to achieve their academic and developmental goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid New Jersey teaching certification with the appropriate elementary/early childhood endorsement. Kindergarten or early elementary teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate instruction. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Commitment to student growth, collaboration, and continuous professional development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned kindergarten instruction. Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Teach foundational literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and
STEM/STEAM
skills. Differentiate instruction based on individual student needs. Use assessments and student data to monitor progress and guide instruction. Support students' social-emotional development and positive behavior. Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress. Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and school leadership. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, school events, and family engagement activities. Follow school policies, procedures, and curriculum expectations. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

2026/2027 10-month contracted position

Starting at $60,000
