The Studio School is seeking a Head Eights and Nines Teacher to lead a dynamic, developmentally responsive classroom for students in our Eights and Nines program. The Head Teacher will create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that challenges students academically while nurturing their social-emotional growth, independence, curiosity, and developing sense of self. The Head Teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues, school administrators, specialists, and families to support each student's growth and development. Responsibilities Lead the Eights and Nines classroom, creating a warm, engaging, and intellectually stimulating environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of each student. Develop and implement a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum that reflects The Studio School's philosophy and approach to learning. Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate challenge, support, and guidance to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. Foster students' independence, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and joy of learning. Observe and assess student learning and development, maintain accurate records, and communicate students' progress and needs with colleagues and families. Work closely with the Learning Facilitator and Head of Teaching and Learning to identify and support individual student needs. Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families. Support students in developing the skills and habits necessary to become responsible, engaged members of the classroom community. Contribute as an active member of a dynamic, collaborative faculty and multidisciplinary team. Participate in ongoing professional development and engage in continuous reflection and professional growth. Qualifications Master's degree in Education. Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience. Strong knowledge of child development and elementary education. Experience with Special Education a plus. Commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices. Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, along with strong digital literacy. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
