An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Qualifications:
1.Holds and maintains required state department of education credentials. 2.Ability to work with a wide variety of staff and students towards a common vision in various building settings and create effective lesson plans. 3.Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. 4.Effective communication, problem solving, and time management skills. 5.Display flexibility, reliability, self-discipline, and a willingness to work through challenging tasks. 6.Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct. 7.Provides student assistance with daily living activities, behavior management, discrete trial training, instructional support, social skills training, task redirection, etc., as directed.
