Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten/1st Grade Teacher to join our team. You will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom where young learners build foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state early childhood education standards Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom updates Support students' social-emotional development alongside academic growth Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and administrators Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline strategies Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field Experience teaching Kindergarten or 1st grade preferred Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy instruction Excellent classroom management and communication skills Patience, creativity, and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Background check clearance required Preferred Skills Experience with Abeka and Singapore Math Curriculum Familiarity with differentiated instruction Benefits Paid time off / school holidays Professional development opportunities Small class sizes / supportive team environment Way Christian Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
