Job Description

Philadelphia Montessori Charter School (PMCS) is seeking a certified teacher for a 3rd/4th grade classroom to guide a non-traditional classroom for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Summary:
PMCS use multi aged, multi-level learning to enhance the learning experience of the students. Classrooms are combined with Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, and 3rd/4th grade. All of our elementary teachers at PMCS work to close the literacy gap through incorporating culturally-relevant and rigorous texts and topics into lessons. At PMCS we value Continuous Improvement, as well as professional growth, and want you to learn and grow in your craft. We have professional development or peer collaboration time built into our calendar.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students Commit to professional growth, self-reflection, a receptiveness to feedback, and a desire to continuously improve Implement rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in cooperation with PMCS leadership and curricular resources developed by our Academic Team Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data to measure progress and use data to inform instruction Collaborate in grade level teams and the special education team to discuss student work, share best practices, plan events for joy and humor, and ensure student mastery of standards Engage families in their children's education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication Demonstrate genuine interest, belief, and care for students' personal and academic success Respond positively and effectively to challenges with a solutions-oriented resiliency Other duties as assigned by school administration Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required with a record of personal, professional, and/or academic achievement Teacher certification - completed and active Montessori Certification a plus! Demonstrated expertise in subject area Outstanding instructional skills driven by data and delivered through rigorous and engaging strategies Classroom management skills

Active Teaching Certification (Required) Montessori Certification (Preferred)
