An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. This is an opportunity to make a lasting difference during one of the most important stages of a child's development. As a 4K Teacher, you will create an engaging classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. You will develop meaningful learning experiences aligned with First Steps 4K requirements and our academy's curriculum, support each child's social and academic growth, and build positive relationships with families. What You'll Do Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet program and academy standards Bring learning to life through hands-on activities, music, movement, stories, technology, and play Provide individualized support that builds each child's curiosity, confidence, and independence Observe, document, and assess student development and provide timely feedback Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Create a positive classroom culture that supports children's social-emotional development Communicate regularly and professionally with families about their child's progress Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leadership, and program partners Plan meaningful indoor and outdoor learning experiences Recognize and report developmental, behavioral, or safety concerns when appropriate Participate in training, workshops, and ongoing professional development Follow all licensing, health, safety, and First Steps 4K requirements What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands that every interaction is an opportunity to help a child learn and grow.
You should be:
Warm, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic Knowledgeable about early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices Creative and able to make learning engaging and enjoyable Organized, attentive, and comfortable managing a classroom A strong communicator who can build trusting relationships with children, families, and coworkers Committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment Willing to learn, grow, and participate in ongoing professional development Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field At least six months of experience working in a licensed childcare facility Ability to successfully complete all required background and Central Registry checks Current TB test and physical examination CPR and First Aid certification preferred—or willingness to obtain certification If you are passionate about early childhood education and want to help young learners develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
