Job Description

About MindSprout Montessori MindSprout Montessori is more than a traditional Montessori school—and far more than a conventional classroom. For educators who are ready to move beyond large class sizes, rigid curriculum pacing, and one-size-fits-all instruction, MindSprout offers an opportunity to do meaningful work in a collaborative environment where creativity, innovation, and student relationships are valued. As a nationally recognized school and Yass Prize recipient, MindSprout is part of a growing movement to reimagine education for families. We are building a model that combines the best of Montessori education with the flexibility, innovation, and personalization today's learners need. Located in Spring, Texas, MindSprout is an innovative, learner centered school serving students from early childhood through middle school. While grounded in authentic Montessori principles, our program also incorporates personalized learning, project based experiences, entrepreneurship, community partnerships, and real world application to prepare students for a rapidly changing world. Every student at MindSprout follows a learning plan designed around their strengths, needs, interests, and goals. Rather than teaching to a rigid curriculum map or standardized pace, our educators have the opportunity to truly know their students and guide them as unique learners. We are seeking an experienced Lower Elementary Guide who is excited to mentor adolescents, personalize learning, and help shape the future of education alongside a passionate team of educators. Position Overview The Lower Elementary Guide will lead a small community of approximately 12 students (ages 6-9) in a dynamic, mixed-age Montessori learning environment designed to foster independence, curiosity, responsibility, and academic excellence. This role extends beyond traditional teaching; the guide serves as educator, mentor, and facilitator, helping students develop strong academic skills while nurturing confidence, intrinsic motivation, and a lifelong love of learning. Working closely with learners, the Elementary Guide will personalize instruction, provide individualized lessons, and support students as they progress through carefully designed learning plans based on their unique strengths, needs, interests, and goals. Through a combination of Montessori principles, hands-on learning, meaningful work, and real-world connections, the guide will help students become independent thinkers and self-directed learners. The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, skilled at building strong relationships with students and families, and excited to be part of a collaborative school community that values innovation, creativity, and personalized education. Responsibilities Guide students through individualized learning plans across core academic subjects. Provide engaging lessons, presentations, and small-group instruction. Support hands-on, experiential, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. Foster independence, responsibility, executive functioning, and problem-solving skills. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate student records. Provide regular communication and feedback to families regarding student growth and development. Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, student-centered learning environment. Maintain a classroom culture built on respect, responsibility, and community. Integrate technology and real-world applications into learning experiences when appropriate. Participate in school events, field experiences, and community partnerships.
